Rico Uwe Schoenemann
LANL
Rico Schoenemann earned his PhD in Physics from TU Dresden (Germany) working on low dimensional superconductors, spin liquids and magnetic nanoparticles at the Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Joachim Wosnitza. He worked as a postdoc at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee and at LANL, where he was a Seaborg postdoc from 2019 to 2022 investigating piezomagnetism in UO2 and superconductivity in UTe2 in high magnetic fields and at low temperatures. Rico is currently a postdoc in the Nuclear Engineering and Nonproliferation division at LANL, focusing on low temperature detectors for applications in nuclear physics and safeguards.
